Introduced to the public in 1997, the British Silver Britannia series has enjoyed a remarkable journey spanning over two decades, featuring a singular monarch on the obverse throughout much of its history. The series, which initially debuted a decade after the introduction of its gold counterpart in 1987, underwent a significant transformation in 2023 with the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in September of that year. The Royal Mint responded by issuing a unique edition of the Britannia coins bearing the images of both Queen Elizabeth II and, subsequently, King Charles III on the obverse.
